Sam has 6 years of healthcare experience which has focused on how process improvement, business consulting and information technology converge to support large health systems and deliver better care and services to patients and internal clients. His original passion was in rural health and how program development and enhancement made access to care easier through Telehealth programs. Most recently, Sam has been working with Mayo Clinic’s Management Engineering and Internal Consulting (ME&IC) Department where they blend Industrial Engineering and Business consulting to serve many service lines (Revenue Innovation & Value Creation, Administration & Connected Health, Digital Transformation, etc.) within the organization. Sam’s work extends across all practices and focuses on quality, cost reduction and revenue innovation. Most recently, his work ranges from enhancing Robotic Assisted surgeries to reducing Falls with Injury to developing an Antimicrobial Stewardship program.

Previous to The Mayo Clinic, Sam spent a year serving as a regional director for a state based Mental Health Initiative focused on improving rural based delivery platforms and the consolidation of 8 county social service offices and 3 regional mental health clinics service lines. He also spent a year with Sanford Health as an administrative fellow where he worked with their Rural Health Network. Sam has a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and Masters in Public Administration and Health Administration both from the University of North Dakota.
