Joseph B. Fisne, CHCIO currently serves as VP/Associate Chief Information Officer for IT applications in the Geisinger Health System. He has served in the capacity of Associate Vice President for Information Technology in Geisinger’s Northeast Pennsylvania Region supporting outreach for Keystone Health Information Exchange (KeyHIE).
He previously served as Vice President/CIO and Vice President/COO for Pocono Medical Center Healthcare System, which included a 230 bed acute care hospital and trauma center, a 75-physician multi-specialty group practice, three medical homes and the Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center in East Stroudsburg. Joe has also served as Vice President and CIO for the Community Medical Center for 17 years in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Joe is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Scranton teaching Healthcare Information Management. He has also taught Healthcare Informatics at Misericordia University and has guest lectured at various organizations including National and Regional Symposiums in topics regarding Healthcare Information Management.
Mr. Fisne holds a Master's Degree from Marywood University and a B.S. Degree from the University of Scranton. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Business Administration at Walden University. He has also participated on various community boards, including the Great Valley Technology Alliance, Penn State Information Systems Advisory Board and KeyHIE Steering Committee.
