Patrick A. Woodard is a board certified internist and hospitalist, though he spends the majority of his time as Chief Medical Information Officer and VP of Clinical Systems at Renown Health. As an internist, he learned that successful clinician-patient relationships are established between two people working together for the benefit of health. In his current role, this has led him to primarily focus on how technology can get out of the way of our human ability to connect.
Although he stumbled into medicine (ask him sometime), he fell in love with the way healthcare improves lives. Part of that love is the realization that small changes in the way healthcare is delivered could make outsized changes in the way we treat people as people. Dr. Woodard turned that concept into a successful software startup during residency and shortly thereafter transitioned into healthcare administration. He is an alumnus of the University of Nevada School of Medicine, Georgetown University, and the George Washington University.
