Dr. James Hellewell is a family medicine physician with advanced training and board certification in clinical informatics. He completed medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2006 and family medicine residency with Intermountain Healthcare in 2009. He completed a Veterans Administration medical informatics fellowship in 2010 and his MS degree in biomedical informatics in 2012 at the University of Utah. He worked as a physician informaticist for the Veterans Administration from 2011 to 2016 and then joined Intermountain Healthcare in 2016. As one of the Care Transformation Medical Directors at Intermountain Healthcare, Dr. Hellewell’s current areas of responsibility include co-leading clinical decision support and computerized order entry.
