As Colorado’s Interim Director of the Office of eHealth Innovation with the Governor’s Office of eHealth Innovation, Carrie provides strategic leadership and coordination of health IT and data sharing efforts across Colorado’s Department of Health Care Policy and Financing, Department of Human Services, and Department of Public Health and Environment. Notable recent state projects include leading Colorado’s State Health IT Working Group, partnering with Colorado’s State Innovation Model, implementing standard data sharing agreements between state health agencies and counties, designing and implementing an executive dashboard for Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS) Executive Steering Committee, advising state agencies on health IT during legislative session, and planning and implementing Colorado’s Health IT Roadmap, a 3-5 year strategic plan for the State of Colorado.

Prior to this assignment, Carrie served as Colorado's State Health IT Coordinator, serving Colorado as part of the Governor’s Office of eHealth Innovation. Carrie is passionate about leveraging technology to improve health outcomes, while reducing costs and inefficiencies. During her time with The Breakaway Group, she helped numerous healthcare organizations of varying size and complexity significantly reduce time and costs associated with implementing and adopting electronic health records (EHR). Carrie has over 15 years of healthcare experience in both not-for-profit and private organizations and in clinical and administrative roles. This includes working as the Executive Director at Global Health Connections, a local 501C-3, and at Donor Alliance, a local organ and tissue donation procurement organizations- coordinating and facilitating aseptic surgical recovery of cadaveric tissue.

Carrie holds an MBA-Health Administration, Masters in Managing Organizations with an emphasis in sustainability, and Bachelor of Science from the University of Colorado at Denver.
