Dr. Tracy Johnson joined Denver Health and Hospital Authority (DH) in 2010 as special assistant to the CEO, responsible for assisting DHHA with the implementation of federal health care reform, especially in the areas of delivery system and payment reform. Upon receiving a $20 million CMS Health Care Innovation Award focused on transforming DH primary care practices, Dr. Johnson transitioned to Ambulatory Care Services where she serves as Director of Health Care Reform Initiatives. During 2016-17, she received a Commonwealth Fund Australian-American Fellowship (2016-17) and spent a year in Sydney, Australia where she focused on predictive risk modeling associated with primary care reforms in New South Wales. Previously, she has worked at the state Medicaid agency and has served as president of Health Policy Solutions, Inc (HPS). HPS is a Colorado-based consulting firm that specialized in health policy analysis, health services research and evaluation. Dr. Johnson holds a Ph.D. in Health Policy and Management from the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health (1998) and an M.A. in Bioethics from the University of Virginia (1992).
