Improving Customer Experience Through Network Automation
Description

Many operators have recently announced major upgrades to their access networks. To maximize success rate in the field, the primary focus is on architecture, design and deployment of HFC access equipment. From a design, deployment and maintenance point of view, the teams involved in these areas must have an end-to-end viewpoint of the HFC system, which can be quite a challenge. This is mainly because the decisions made by each team can create a cascading effect for everyone else involved in the network and most importantly, the customers. This complexity can particularly cause challenges with plant maintenance and troubleshooting.

Upcoming plant upgrades give an immense opportunity to automate most of the previously mentioned activities in the access network. Automation can not only increase the quality of the customer experience, it can also significantly reduce unwanted operational costs long term. All of this is possible while also reducing the complexity of access network design and maintenance.

During this session we will discuss the short- and long-term benefits of automation along with possible approaches in various areas of the business, such as OSS, engineering, design and operations.
