Dr. Oliva has been a Chief Medical Officer with over 20 years of experience in Primary Care Health Clinics, Community Hospitals, Multi-Hospital Systems and Integrated Delivery System. Currently he is a full-time physician executive with Nuance Healthcare Division as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for CDI. He is board certified in Family Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Physician Executives. In addition to traditional hospital and system CMO responsibilities, he has personally been involved with the implementation and expansion of clinical documentation programs since 2004 and brings to Nuance the valuable experience needed to assist physicians and organization in addressing many challenging issues such as compliant documentation, severity of illness, level of care determination, billing and coding, how to use AI technology to advance physician/organizational performance and burnout, and much more along with the experience to assist in developing strategies to address many of the healthcare changes both current and future.
