Lavisha Pelaez is the Health Equity Research Associate in the Office of Health Equity and Inclusion at Nemours Children’s Health. Her focus is pediatric health disparities research, providing leadership to multidisciplinary teams to achieve health equity for patient families, and partnering with Nemours departments to build a diverse pipeline of healthcare workers.

Before joining Nemours, Mrs. Pelaez was a program analyst for an internationally-known healthcare system. She provided biostatistical, epidemiologic and data management services for multiple biomedical research projects. She also worked closely with the Baltimore City Health Department on a multi-site demonstration project funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention focused on addressing the health needs of vulnerable populations.
She received both her Bachelor's degrees and Master’s degrees from the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland.
