There are many lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, with one of them being the need to go back to the basics of infection control. Cleaning and Disinfection of the environment are critical components of a well-rounded environment of care and infection control program. Novel disinfection technologies can improve the efficiency and efficacy of disinfection efforts when used in coordination with normal manual disinfection methods.

Session Objectives:

• Discuss the need for a holistic approach to cleaning and disinfection in healthcare settings

• Review the current evidence-based clinical recommendations for disinfection of the complex healthcare environment

• Discuss how to leverage novel disinfection technologies to meet high-risk disinfection needs
