As the supply chain leader for McLeod Health, Carmen Winfield focuses on continual improvement in supply chain processes. She leads a team that collaborates across the organization to ensure the highest quality care is delivered at the best possible cost throughout McLeod’s seven-hospital system, which serves patients in an 18-county region spanning North and South Carolina. For McLeod’s recent total joint replacement project, Carmen brought leaders from finance, quality, clinical and value analysis together to create a new process for measuring and adjusting cost, quality and outcomes.
