Steven R. Sumner is Director of Global Marketing and Product Development for the Lincoln Electric Company. Steve manages Lincoln Electric’s nine key Global Business Segments – Pipeline, Automotive, Offshore, Heavy Fabrication, Power Generation, Shipbuilding, Structural Segment, Maintenance & Repair and Pipe Mill. He also is responsible for driving solutions worldwide by marshalling the global sales force and providing strategy input to global product development by coordinating marketing communications, global branding and related marketing services.
Steve joined Lincoln Electric in 1987 as an engineering trainee in Machine R & D. He since has held many different positions within the company, including Assistant Customer Service Manager for the US and Canada, Product Manager of Commercial Products (MIG/TIG & Plasma), Manager, Marketing Product Development, Global Product Manager, Vice President of Sales, Lincoln Electric Europe and most recently Director of Global Marketing.
Steve earned a BS of Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA in Marketing from Case Western Reserve University.
