COVID-19 has highlighted the importance of rapid and accurate diagnostic tests to aid in patient management decisions, including isolation and therapies. We will review Cycle Threshold (Ct values) and the published evidence for their potential clinical utility in patient management, as well as the potential role of multiplex respiratory panels during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
