Description
Alcohol-related problems are a top cause of global morbidity and mortality. Research, professional practice (across the continuum of care), and public policy are the key tools used to address alcohol problems. This keynote presentation will address the relationships among alcohol-related science, practice and policy. Attendees will be able to identify the barriers to better integrating these three pillars of alcohol problem prevention and treatment. More importantly, attendees will be able to discuss potential solutions to these barriers in a manner that results in change and action.

Objectives:
Identify three barriers to the integration of research, practice and policy.
Identify three concrete steps to integration of research and practice policy.
Discuss the importance of the bi-directional relationship between research practice and policy.
