Dr. Michael Lee is the Executive Director and Medical Director of the Department of Accountable Care and Clinical Integration at Boston Children’s Hospital. In this role he is accountable for the risk-based contracts that include Boston Children’s Hospital, the Physician’s Organization and the Pediatric Physician’s Organization at Children’s. This includes the BCH ACO (Boston Children’s Health ACO), a Medicaid Accountable Care Organization that began in March, 2018 and includes approximately 120,000 children in Massachusetts and the Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA Alternative Quality Contract. This work involves quality measurement, the support of clinical programs in value-based care and data analytics. He is also a faculty member in the department of Clinical Informatics at BCH where he is the rotation director for the innovation rotation in the BCH Fellowship in Clinical Informatics. He is a member of the Department of Pediatrics at BCH, sees patients in Urgent Care in the Children’s Hospital Primary Care Clinic and is an Instructor in Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School.
Prior to taking this role in 2017, Dr. Lee had a general pediatric practice at Dedham Medical Associates (DMA) for 25 years. He is a past president of DMA and was the inaugural Board Chairman of Atrius Health, a large ambulatory multispecialty group in Eastern Massachusetts. From 2007-2017 Dr. Lee was the Senior Medical Director of Clinical Informatics at Atrius Health responsible for the electronic health record, patient portal and other provider and patient-facing applications.
Dr. Lee holds a BA in Engineering Sciences (Electrical) from Yale University, an MD from Mcgill University and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He is board-certified in Pediatrics and Clinical Informatics. He enjoys skiing, golf and cycling.
