Hugo Gutterrez joined Coterra Energy in March 2025 as Government and External Affairs Manager and is responsible for the company’s lobbying and political engagement before the Texas and New Mexico legislature. Before joining the oil & gas industry, Hugo honed his political skills by serving as Chief of Staff and legislative aide to two legislators in the Texas House of Representatives. He is a native of McAllen, Texas and a graduate of Texas State University in San Marcos, where he received a B.A. in Mass Communications-Public Relations.
