Adam Gold currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer for CHOC, located in Orange County California. He is responsible for current state and future state technology designs for all inpatient and outpatient facilities. Since 1964, CHOC has been steadfastly committed to providing the highest quality medical care to children. Affiliated with the University of California, Irvine, our regional pediatric healthcare network includes a state-of-the-art 334-bed main hospital facility in the City of Orange, and a hospital-within-a-hospital in Mission Viejo. CHOC also offers many primary and specialty care clinics, more than 100 additional programs and services, a pediatric residency program, and four centers of excellence – The CHOC Heart, Neuroscience, Orthopedic and Hyundai Cancer Institutes.
Adam is an “ignore the box” type of thinker that is most comfortable with taking an innovative approach to challenges and initiatives while guiding the team with his unique sense of humor and ability to bring out the best of each of his team members.
Prior to his arrival at CHOC, Adam served as Chief Technology Officer for the University of California Irvine Health (UC Health) and the University of San Diego Health. His current responsibilities at CHOC include core infrastructure, service desk, cloud infrastructure, desktop engineering, network engineering and all other responsibilities deemed necessary by management.
Adam received his bachelor’s degree in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence from Southern New Hampshire University and is currently working on completing his Master of Business degree from the University of Redlands. His other credentials include Certified Healthcare Technology Professional (CTHP), Certified healthcare Technology Specialist (AHIMA), CPHIMS, CAHIMS and Lean Six Sigma.
Adam also currently serves as the chair for the Healthcare Information Technology committee for the Orange County Business Council and participates in various speaking engagements, mentoring opportunities, and hackathons.
In his spare time, Adam enjoys mentoring for the Big Brother Big Sister program, dabbling in biohacking and adding to his collection of “geeky” tattoos. Adam currently lives in sunny Huntington Beach California with his 1 wife, 1 son, 3 dogs and 2 cats in his heavily automated home.
