Jason Fish, MD, is Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President at Southwestern Health Resources (SWHR), a network of 5,500 academic and community physicians across North Texas. He oversees the medical operations of the physician network and ensures patients are receiving the highest possible quality of care. As a practicing physician within the SWHR network, Dr. Fish brings a unique perspective to his position. He also serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas (UT) Southwestern Medical Center, where he specializes in general internal medicine. Dr. Fish earned his medical degree at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He performed his residency in internal medicine and completed the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars program, earning a master’s degree in health services research at the University of California, Los Angeles and a second master’s degree in healthcare organization leadership from the Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas. He is also a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the American College of Physicians.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Fish joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2011. He previously has served in several leadership roles including UT’s Ambulatory Chief Quality Officer and Deputy of Chief Medical Informatics Officer and SWHR’s Chief Quality Officer. His research interests include value-based models of care delivery, performance improvement, clinical decision support and informatics, preventive care and chronic care management.
