Steve has been working in the health care IT field for over 29 years with 17 years as a Chief Information Officer. Steve was named the CIO of UCHealth in 2012. UCHealth is an innovative, nonprofit Colorado-based health system that delivers the highest quality medical care with an excellent patient experience. UCHealth includes 26,000 employees, 12 acute-care full-service hospitals and hundreds of physicians across Colorado, southern Wyoming and western Nebraska. Steve and his team have focused on creating a consolidated, enterprise IT platform across UCHealth, laying the foundation for innovation and transformational care. From 2009 to 2012, Steve was CIO of University of Colorado Hospital, where he oversaw the implementation of the Epic EMR and Lawson ERP solutions. Prior to that, Steve was CIO at Christiana Care Health System in Delaware for five years. In addition to the EMR and ERP background, Steve has extensive experience with digital patient experience capabilities, health information exchange, advanced clinical and research analytics, mobile technology, personalized medicine, and virtual health.
