According to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies, chronic pain effects conservatively effects over 100 million people in America today. This breakout session: describes and discusses pain recovery; shows the difference between acute and chronic pain; discusses substance use and mental health disorders and their relationship to shame and vulnerability with case examples. Multidisciplinary treatment recommendations will be given as we facilitate our client’s ability to with strength and courageous action to “fall up.”
Upon completion of this session, attendees will be able to:
- Demonstrate and describe what is pain recovery.
- Demonstrate the difference between acute and chronic pain using case examples.
- Explain the symbiotic relationship between chronic pain using case examples.
- Identify and recommend multidisciplinary treatment options for behavioral healthcare field.
