Don brings over thirty-five years’ experience in commercial real estate.
Don joined QuadReal as Executive Vice President, B.C. Region in February 2017. In 2019 his role was revised to Executive Vice President, Operational Excellence. His work with QuadReal focuses on leading overall performance for the office and industrial portfolios in Canada as well as the Operations Excellence team globally which we will talk more in depth on today.
Don started his career with Oxford Properties in 1986 in Calgary. Don worked with Oxford Properties for over 12 years in both Calgary and Vancouver in a variety of roles focussing on key AAA downtown properties.
Don joined Beutel Goodman in May 1998 as Regional Director, BC before relocating to Calgary in 2002 when Beutel was acquired by Bentall.
By 2012 Don became Senior Vice President, Real Estate with Bentall Kennedy based in Calgary, where he was responsible for the strategy, direction and growth of Bentall Kennedy’s development, leasing and property management across the prairies.
Don is a graduate of the University of Calgary with a bachelor’s degree in Commerce majoring in Finance. He holds several industry designations, including the RPA designation. Other highlights include the completing leadership development program at the Banff School of Fine Arts and the emerging leaders in Real Estate program at Harvard.
Don holds his real estate license in Alberta and British Columbia.
Don currently sits on the Executive Board of BOMA International, is the Past Chair of BOMA Canada and BOMA Calgary. Don is also a BOMA Fellow. Don remains actively involved on many committees including the BOMA’s National Advisory Councils in both Canada and BOMA International as well as serving on the Community Service and Membership Development committees. Past committees include leading the MGA review in Alberta, serving on the BOMA International Nominating Committee, and Building Codes Committee to name a few.
He has volunteered on several industry boards including Director, NAIOP Calgary and NAIOP Vancouver.
Don is also Past Chair and Director of the Green Calgary Association. Don is committed to customer service excellence, environmental sustainability and supporting the industry though education.
