Brian brings to HealthShare Exchange more than 38 years of leadership experience in the hospital, physician, academic, medical-center, and payer information systems areas. He comes to HSX from Merlin International, where he was the chief technology officer (CTO), responsible for the company’s strategy and vision to continually provide commercial and government customers with optimal, secure, integrated, and sustainable security solutions that enable them to meet business and mission requirements. While at Merlin, Brian served an important role on HSX’s Innovation Committee and, in this capacity, directly advised on the structure and design of HSX MarketStreet.
Before joining Merlin, Brian served as the Associate Vice President of Health Technology and Academic Computing for the University of Pennsylvania Health System / Perelman School of Medicine, where he led large teams of developers focused on analytics, application development, interoperability, and academic computing. Earlier, Brian held a leadership position at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, was the founder and CTO of InteHealth, Inc., and spent 17 prior years developing healthcare software products.
Brian recently achieved his CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) credential and is a fellow of HIMSS (the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society). He is frequent speaker on panels and at conferences across the nation.
Brian earned his bachelor of technology degree in computer systems from Rochester Institute of Technology, where he graduated magna cum laude, and a master of business administration degree from Villanova University.
