Dr. Robert T. Adamson is the Senior Vice President and Operational Project Leader for the EPIC Implementation. In his role he manages all operational aspects of the Epic implementation and provides strategic direction and overall management of the Epic implementation. Prior to this role he was the Senior Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer at RWJBarnabas Health. His responsibilities included strategic planning for the pharmacy enterprise, designing, managing and improving the medication use system ensuring quality outcomes through performance-improvement activities, and fulfill the organization’s research and educational missions. In addition he ensured that information systems and technology used in pharmacy and patient care environments maximizes the safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of medication prescribing, dispensing, and administration as well as manages the pharmacy enterprise financial performance

After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from St. John's College of Pharmacy, he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Rutgers University College of Pharmacy, where he is currently an adjunct instructor.

Dr. Adamson has conducted several disease research studies in the areas of infectious disease, oncology and oncology supportive care, and various internal medicine subjects. He is a recipient of the Greg Santora New Jersey Pharmacist of the Year Award, and was bestowed fellowship designation in 2014 by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, among a wealth of professional awards and honors. He has published widely in prestigious medical journals, serves on the editorial board of major periodicals in his field and has presented at more than 500 medical conferences nationally, internationally as well as on television.
