Begin Nomination: 2025 RDH Award of Distinction

The Sunstar/RDH Award of Distinction application is open only to licensed dental hygienists. To be eligible the entrant must have an active dental hygiene license in the United States or Canada.

The entrant cannot be a full-time employee of a dental products distributor which markets products competing with the Sunstar product line.

Each recipient will be required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement and Release Form, prior to any photo session or participation in dental focused discussion groups.

What is the selection process?

Questions 7 thru 10, on application, will require answers of 150 words minimum to 350 words maximum. Applicants that do not meet these guidelines will NOT qualify.
All INCOMPLETE submissions will be deleted.
The first two submissions for one name will be reviewed. All additional submissions will be deleted.
Judging will be conducted using a rubric system. A new panel of judges are randomly selected each year.
Nominations will close at midnight central standard time on March 31st, 2025.

Public Health- Preventing and controlling dental disease while promoting dental health through organized community programs.

Full Time Clinician- Providing direct patient care 32+ hours per week. Full time position providing care in general practice, periodontal practice, geriatric patients, intellectual disabilities, specialty needs and mobile dentistry.

Academia- Full time position with dental hygiene program educating and mentoring the dental hygienist of the future.

Entrepreneur- Organizing and promoting a personal business to benefit the dental professional or dental patients.

New RDH (graduated 5 years ago or less)- Recognizing those RDH who graduated in 2020, or after, focusing on making a difference in their community, with their patients, or in an entrepreneurial program.

Research- Authored a peer-reviewed research paper that was published not more than 3 years ago (Award in this category will be limited to only the lead author if multiple research authors. Only one author will be covered for hotel and travel expenses.)

By submitting a Nomination, Nominator understands that any nomination submission becomes the property of Endeavor Business Media, LLC and Endeavor Business Media, LLC may use the content of my submission for any purpose in connection with the Awards. Nominator further releases and holds Endeavor Business Media, LLC, its officers, employees, agents, representatives and the Judges of the RDH Award of Distinction harmless from any and all claims, damages or loss, including, but not limited to, loss of current or future business or profits or any harm to reputation and regardless of whether Endeavor Business Media, LLC was advised of the possibility of such damages, due to submitting an entry, the entrant’s product review score or the publication of other Award scores. This release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted and includes all claims in tort, contract, equity or otherwise and if any portion therefore is held invalid, the undersigned agrees that the balance shall continue in full force and effect. Nominator further agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action, arising out of or in connection with the Awards shall be resolved by judicial proceeding taking place in the state or federal courts within the state of Tennessee and be adjudicated in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee; (2) any and all claims, judgements and awards shall be limited to out-of-pocket-costs incurred, including costs incurred in entering, but in no event shall include an award of attorney’s fees’ and (3) Nominator waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, and consequential damages, loss of profits, and any other damages and rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
