Bret Shillingstad MD FACS is a physician who practiced General Surgery full time for 9 years, was the previous co-owner and co-founder of a Multi-Specialty Group and served as the Director of Clinical Informatics at Epic for almost 13 years. During that time Bret performed software demonstrations, assisted in large scale implementations as a physician liaison, helped develop specialty modules at Epic, developed Epic’s International Sales to Europe, and wrote a book on EMR optimization. After leaving Epic, he has worked with cutting edge technologies that integrate into Epic, Cerner, and other EMR’s. This includes Nuance products such as DAX, SCAPD, DMO, DMA, etc. He is passionate about physician efficiency, optimization, and decreasing physician burnout and helping large health systems and physicians achieve ROI. He has many relationships with Healthcare and Healthcare IT leadership throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
