Nick Patel, MD, is chief digital officer for Prisma Health, where he also is a practicing internal medicine physician and vice chair for innovation with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. Prior to his current role, Dr. Patel served as the executive medical director of informatics at Palmetto Health-USC Medical Group. Focused on defining and articulating a unique vision on the utilization and development of technology in health care, his expertise includes information technology transformation, governance, workflow enhancements, health equity and population health. Patel currently serves on multiple health care technology advisory boards and is a subject matter expert for several Fortune 500 companies. He holds a clinical faculty position with the USC School of Medicine and the College of Engineering and Computing.
