Tina Simmons, MBA, BSN, Director of Population Health for Atlantic General Hospital and Health System, is responsible for community education and outreach, health literacy, social determinants of health and health equity initiatives for Worcester county and the surrounding counties. In addition, she oversees the diabetes education and behavioral health service lines for Atlantic General, including the recently opened Behavioral Health Crisis Center in Worcester County.
Tina joined Atlantic General in 2019 to serve as Director of Nursing for the health system’s more than 20 primary care and specialty practices. She has an extensive background in the areas of nursing, quality, performance improvement, compliance, and clinical documentation improvement, having worked within the University of Maryland Medical System in a variety of roles, and as Director of Quality for Southeast Georgia Health System. She began her career as a registered nurse in the emergency department within the MedStar Health System. Tina earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Goucher College and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Maryland School of Nursing before completing an MBA at University of Maryland University College.
