Gina Altieri is Nemours Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Enterprise Chief Communications Officer and a member of the Executive Cabinet reporting to President and Chief Executive Officer, R. Lawrence Moss, MD.
As Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Enterprise Chief Communications Officer, Gina leads the development and execution of a comprehensive and proactive communications and brand strategy to support Nemours’ strategic goals. Her responsibilities include developing, promoting and protecting the Nemours brand on a global scale by activating and advancing the organization’s vision, values and strategy to create compelling narratives that resonate with Nemours’ audiences.
Gina also leads the Nemours Center for Health Delivery Innovation (CHDI), Enterprise Strategic Planning, Project Management, and Marketing and Communications.
Her leadership of more than 20 years at Nemours has included building its electronic medical record platform, which continues to be an integral part of Nemours digital health strategy and earned the prestigious Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Stage 7 top ranking. Under her leadership, Nemours has been recertified HIMSS Stage 7 and has been a recipient of the CHIME and Modern Healthcare Custom Media's Most Wired award for seven consecutive years.
Nemours CHDI has earned the American Telehealth Association President’s Award for Healthcare Delivery Transformation, Connected World Magazine’s Digital Edge Award, the Florida Hospital Association’s Innovator of the Year (2017) award and the American Well Achievement award.
Gina is also responsible for The Nemours Estate, the historical home and stunning gardens owned by Alfred I. duPont, Nemours’ benefactor, and inspired by Versailles’ Petit Trianon. The Estate is open to visitors and gives travelers a peek into the long-lost world of splendor and beauty that is the hallmark of the Brandywine Valley.
She joined Nemours in 1996 as Practice Administrator of Nemours Children's Health (formerly Nemours Children's Clinic) in Wilmington, Delaware. Prior to joining Nemours full time, she worked at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware on a consulting basis while she was an employee for the Thomas Jefferson University.
Gina is a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and American Medical Group Association (AMGA).
She has also been recognized by Modern Healthcare as a Top Innovator, by Connected World magazine’s Woman of M2M and the Internet of Things (IOT), as a Woman of Distinction by the Philadelphia Business Journal, a Woman in Business by Delaware Today and by the Balanced Score Card Hall of Fame.
Gina Altieri was born in Philadelphia. She earned a BS in accounting from Drexel University and achieved the CPA designation in 1988. She lives in Philadelphia with her husband Augustine (Gus) and enjoys spending time at their beach house in Ocean City, N.J.
