In his more than 40-year career in the communications industry, Mark has held technical and engineering positions with Cox Cable, Century Cable, Greater Media, TCI, Comcast, Continental Cable, ADC, Arris, Antec, CommScope, Telecommunications Engineers, CableLabs, Bell operating companies, private cable and private telephone companies, CLECs, WISPs, and long-distance carriers. This variety has provided Mark with exposure to technologies that can be competitive or complimentary for service providers and provided him with a background with varied infrastructures. Mark was responsible for the first deployment of voice over HFC in the U.S., early adoption of cable modems and internet over HFC, and wireless internet throughout neighborhoods. He continues with fiber deployments supporting the rural and mountainous areas of the US, utilizing novel approaches to DWDM shared fiber, bidirectional services over single fibers, PON architectures, and active switching concepts to expand bandwidth to the home.
