Valerie started with Centura in 2010. Valerie completed her undergraduate and medical school education at Loyola University Chicago and residency training at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Denver. She continues to practice medicine part-time as a hospitalist at Mercy in Durango. Valerie provides strategic and operational physician leadership to develop, optimize, and integrate clinical information systems and health care technologies across Centura. Valerie partners with clinical and operational stakeholders across the enterprise to align informatics program goals with Cantura's strategic vision and priorities. In collaboration with Nancy Yates, the CNIO, she oversees informatics governance process with focus on clinical IT prioritization to improve patient outcomes, increase clinician efficiency and contain costs. Valerie lives in Durango with her husband, Darren, four teenage daughters, and an assortment of cats and dogs.
