• Kussy has been with University of California San Diego since 2013, bringing with her a background in international development and global health policy.
• Prior to joining the Strategy Team in 2019, she spent six years with UCSD School of Medicine - Center for Community Health. She led proposal development, program evaluation, and project management of NIH, HRSA, USDA, CDC, and County funded programs to support community based interventions and longitudinal research studies.
• Her prior role as an Evaluation Researcher focused on community-clinic linkage initiatives to address socioeconomic and racial disparities in childhood obesity, heart disease, and stroke in San Diego’s communities of color.
• As Strategy Analyst, she leads the Medi-Cal strategy for the health system with the goal of creating equitable and optimized access to specialty care for federally qualified health centers (FQHC) patients.
• In addition, she conducts health policy impact analysis, SDOH strategy development, and Co-chairs the Health Disparities and Inequities Work Stream of the UCSD Anti-Racism Taskforce.
