Chris Angelides has three decades of international, technical, and commercial experience in the Energy industry across the value chain. Senior leadership roles in Strategic Planning, Operations, Non-technical Risk Integration, ESG/CSR, and Stakeholder Management. Experience includes Performance Unit management with P&L responsibility, developing and implementing ESG and Sustainability Strategies, and establishing Alliance Partnerships to support the Energy industry transition to Net Zero Emissions.
He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston (UH) C.T. Bauer College of Business where he currently teaches a course on ESG in Industry. He serves as a Board Member of the UH Bauer College, and as an Advisory Board member of the Consortium for Energy Corporate Social Responsibility (CECSR) at UH Energy.
Until very recently Mr. Angelides was the Head of Shell U.S. Energy Transition Integration which involved identifying opportunities that transcended the established Line of Business boundaries, breaking down siloed thinking and behaviors, and positioning Shell’s U.S. portfolio for success as society moves towards a net-zero emissions economy. During his 15-year tenure with Shell he also held senior roles in Integrated Gas, Upstream Americas, and Shell Catalyst & Technologies.
Prior to joining Shell, he was a Vice President at AECOM where he directed a team of technical and commercial professionals, offering technology, process safety, and optimization solutions to a wide variety of upstream, midstream, and downstream clients.
Chris earned a Mechanical Engineering degree and an MBA from the University of Houston and a Graduate Diploma in Strategic Decision and Risk Management from Stanford. He is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt Practitioner (CSSGB).
Chris was born and raised on the island of Cyprus and presently serves as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Cyprus to Texas.
