Chad Wilson is the former Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and Stanford Children’s Health. Prior to joining Stanford Children's in 2019, Chad was the Director of IT Security and Chief Security Officer at Children’s National Health System in Washington, DC, where he developed and led all information security initiatives for the health system. Under his leadership, Chad unified IT and security goals to achieve unprecedented cost savings, enhanced service delivery, advanced defenses and improved processes throughout the organization. He has also served as Senior Associate for Booz Allen Hamilton, managing cyber security services for commercial and government clients with an emphasis in healthcare. As Acting CISO and Director of Information Security for MedStar Health, a non-profit regional healthcare system across Maryland and Washington, DC, Chad grew the information security program and developed their mobile and data protection strategies. His interest in the field of information security started when he was in the United States Marine Corps. Throughout Chad's 27 year career, his focus has always been patient and consumer focused, improving the security of systems and clinical applications by partnering with area experts to maintain an awareness of the importance of information security and developing best practices. Chad is a recognized leader who is invited to speak at national level events across government, IT, cyber security and the healthcare industries.
