Description

Electric utilities with deployed Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), much like Google, Netflix, and Amazon, have access to deep data sets. Pairing this data with complementary customer, buildings, and climate information can help utilities better understand their operations, their customers' behavior and usage patterns, and their impact on the environment. These rich datasets, coupled with advancements in scalable and democratized data technologies, provide great opportunities for utilities to standardize data accesses, optimize analytics, engage customers, and upgrade their electric networks using data-driven decision-making tools. The Energy Authority (TEA) Connected Analytics team has been partnering with utilities to innovate across these opportunities, responding with high impact use cases, and delivering insightful data analytics.

This session discusses:

  • Cross-organizational value-add AMI Use Cases for utilities
  • Customer Segmentation and why it is important for engaging customers
  • Big Data seta and why democratization is important for optimizing analytics
