Tyler is a Senior Data Scientist on the E Source Grid Inform team that delivers AI and Data Science solutions to support decision making in maintaining and operating the T&D side of the utility business. This includes data science analytics from where to focus vegetation management efforts, to how best to invest in equipment upgrades and predicting expected outages from upcoming storms for better storm planning and response. Prior to joining E Source Data Science, Tyler was a Machine Learning Scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) with a focus on applied research to improve forecasting and integration of renewable energy into the grid resulting in over a dozen peer reviewed publications in the scientific literature. In addition to BS, MS, and PhD degrees from Penn State in Meteorology, Tyler holds an Energy Risk Professional (ERP®) certification from the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
