Dr. Poon’s title is similar, it’s “Chief Health Information Officer,” a position he filled at Duke in 2014. As CHIO his responsibilities are a tall order: to align technology solutions with organizational objectives, the clinical and analytic information systems that impact patient care. Besides this strategic leadership appointment, Eric practices general internal medicine at Durham Medical Center, part of Duke Primary Care. Of interest, his career includes fellowship training in general internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an MPH degree from Harvard.
