Robert Lord is the co-founder and CEO of Protenus. As a medical student, Robert saw first-hand how EHR systems could be used to improve patient care and share clinical data more efficiently, but also that this technology created a new slate of serious security and privacy concerns. In 2014, Robert and co-founder Nick Culbertson developed the initial prototype that launched Protenus. Prior to Protenus, Robert worked at Bridgewater Associates, where he designed and managed systems to analyze global markets. Robert is an advocate for the improvement of Maryland’s business ecosystem, a published clinical researcher, and a teacher at Johns Hopkins. Robert holds an AB in Social Studies, magna cum laude, from Harvard University.
