Dr. Regina Olasin, FAAP, FACP is the Chief Medical Officer at Care for the Homeless which provides shelter services, advocacy for affordable housing and integrated primary care, behavioral health and dental services for the New York City Homeless population through PCMH recognized Federally Qualified Health Centers located in shelters, soup kitchens and drop in sites located in four boroughs.
Prior to joining Care for the Homeless in March 2016, Dr. Olasin served as the Medical Director for 10 years at the Center for Discovery, Sullivan County, NY, a Patient Centered Medical Home and residential facility for the developmentally disabled.
As a National Health Service Corps Scholarship recipient, Dr. Olasin fulfilled her NHSC obligation in rural north central Pennsylvania, working in a Federally Qualified Health Center network, becoming the Medical Director for the Laurel Health System and practicing comprehensive primary care for 15 years in rural Pennsylvania.
In each career chapter one of the most fulfilling aspects has been development of patient and person-centered processes to enhance engagement and leverage technology, as it has evolved, to deliver superior clinical outcomes.
Dr. Olasin is dually board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and has practiced transitional medicine for vulnerable populations with a focus on performance improvement initiatives throughout her career. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Physicians, the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians and the New York Academy of Medicine. She has a BS in Biology from Fordham University, NY a Master’s in Public Administration from NYU, and D.O from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.
