7/12/22 Xenex: Proven Strategies for Building & Maintaining a Successful EVS Program
Scott Tomko Steve Egbert
Description

The Environmental Services industry has experienced a significant evolution over the past couple of decades. Today’s EVS team members wear many hats. In addition to traditional cleaning roles, their patient interactions help communicate the culture of their healthcare facility, and many are involved in epidemiology, chemistry, and finance discussions.

As an EVS leader with 25 years of experience, I’ve worked with many great healthcare facilities and well-known EVS contract organizations. I’ve seen and experienced a lot of change throughout my career and have identified some strategies for building great teams, using my network, taking risks, and being creative when facing staffing/financial shortages. I look forward to joining Healthcare Purchasing News for a Q&A discussion about the approaches I’ve taken to build and maintain successful EVS programs and sharing my first-hand knowledge of what has and hasn’t worked with a focus on the challenges we are currently facing.

We’ll discuss:

  • What makes a good EVS leader
  • A creative approach to hiring and retaining staff
  • The importance of the right tools and resources
  • Aligning processes and creating a consistent program – it’s possible!
