To mitigate the effects of the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak it has become critical to test as often and in as high volume as possible. With the team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, we have been able to meet demand of testing and research with our sample preparation products and innovate with new products. There has been a growing need for high frequency and high throughput testing of which sampling saliva has become the best sample for noninvasive convenience and efficiency. Thermo Fisher Scientific will be expanding the workflow into sample collection by launching SpeciMAX saliva collection kit. A collection kit made a convenient funnel to collect raw saliva, sized for automation racks and for use in traditional extraction and direct to PCR workflows. The introduction of saliva collection to the Thermo Fisher Scientific workflow will enable high frequency and high throughput surveillance testing.
