Today’s clinicians are inundated with information from numerous sources.   Much of this valuable clinical data is siloed within electronic medical records in our healthcare systems.  There has been a movement afoot to harness the power of this information to drive effective and timely clinical decision making – to move from a reactionary process of care delivery to one that is more proactive and patient centered.   For this reason, predictive analytics has become a headline in healthcare in recent years.  By aggregating data that predicts risk and leveraging the information into “scores” that change as new clinical information is obtained, clinicians can quickly visualize a patient’s condition and develop or adjust plans of care to as needed.
