Jennifer Brown
Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel
Graphite Health
Jennifer Brown is our Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel, helping Graphite Health navigate the complex world of healthcare risk and compliance with an eye towards innovation.
Jennifer brings with her a wealth of legal and leadership experience in the not-for-profit, mission-based healthcare field. Prior to joining the Graphite team, Jennifer served as the Chief Legal Officer at Baylor Scott & White Health, where she oversaw the system’s healthcare legal compliance and risk management efforts. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jennifer also stepped in to serve as interim Chief Human Resources Officer at the system, providing critical administrative leadership and guidance.
Jennifer has always had a passion for supporting mission-based and non-profit healthcare organizations. Before joining Baylor Scott & White, Jennifer served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Graphite member system Presbyterian Healthcare Services. Until 2014, Jennifer led Mercy Health as Senior Vice President and Senior Transaction Counsel, where she handled transactional matters for the health system, including hospital acquisitions, joint ventures, physician integration, and dispositions. She also served as a partner for law firm Kutak Rock’s healthcare practice group.
Before dipping her toes in the world of healthcare, Jennifer received her BA in political science and economics from Texas A&M University, and a JD from The University of Texas School of Law.
Outside of Graphite, Jennifer can usually be found on the tennis court, perfecting her serve and backhand. She is also an avid golfer and fly fisher, and a devoted college sports fan – especially the Texas A&M Aggies. Jennifer lives in Kansas City, with her husband and two sons, where she used to own backyard chickens before it was cool.
