Part 2 - Panel Discussion - Health Equity Takes Center Stage   |   10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
In the wake of the pandemic and racial justice movement of 2020, many health systems are developing strategies that advance policies and practices designed to eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in healthcare. In addition, Medicaid agencies are starting to include equity metrics in value-based purchasing contracts. You will learn from several health system executives who are leading efforts to reduce disparities and making health care more equitable for all.

The opening session includes the following speakers:

11:45 AM - 12:15 PM (EDT)

Ransomware is the most damaging threat to organizations of any size. Many organizations are not prepared to detect, prevent or recover from a ransomware attack. Microsegmentation is often viewed as too big of a challenge to take on. CIOs and CISOs are under increased pressure to reduce costs and complexity while not compromising on security. In this Fireside chat we will show you how to protect your hybrid cloud from ransomware using Nutanix Flow and how Microsegmentation with HCI gives organizations increased ROI with ease of implementation.

12:45 PM - 1:15 PM (EDT)

The best kept secret in healthcare is that even with the most integrated EHR in place, clinicians still do a large portion of their work on paper - jotting down notes at the bedside, carrying rounding lists to manage their tasks and manually transcribing updates back into the EHR. While  EHRs have improved multiple facets of healthcare technology, they have not been able to address this gap in clinical workflow. The lack of usability when it comes to managing patient care has forced clinicians to rely on workarounds that are often unsecured and inefficient - putting patient safety at risk and increasing risk for the clinician and the institution. During this session, we will discuss:

  • Why clinicians rely on paper lists and other unsecured tools to manage their work
  • How these workarounds can put patient safety at risk
  • Potential solutions to mitigate these under-recognized risks

2:30 PM - 3:00 PM (EDT)
Fireside Chat

Patient care organization leaders will share their experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic-fueled shift to telehealth-based care delivery, and the major lessons learned so far, as hospitals, medical groups, and health systems continue to evolve the telehealth concept forward. As the crisis continues to unfold, how are HDOs planning for the mix of in person and virtual visits, and what factors are helping them determine where telehealth is most appropriate and most optimally deployed?
