Dr. Justin Coran has been involved in the healthcare field since 2001. He came to NOMS from a large Cleveland-based health system where he served as the company’s first data scientist and helped build the initial data science program at one of the largest Accountable Care Organizations in the country. As a full-stack data scientist, Justin was responsible for creating infrastructure and for managing the scientific exploration of clinical, social, behavioral, and financial information for the purpose of optimizing healthcare operations and achieving healthcare’s triple aim. Justin is an accomplished scholar and in 2019, was appointed as an adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University’s School of Medicine.
In June 2021, Justin joined NOMS as the Chief Data Science and Analytics Officer. This role serves as the principal advocate for managing and analyzing data within the enterprise. Key objectives of this role include creating healthcare intelligence models and business-oriented decisions while developing data warehouses, data governance and management frameworks, and reporting and visualization tools. As an innovator, Justin leads the company’s ability to monetize data while overseeing the development of advanced analytics related to risk stratification, artificial intelligence, machine learning, value-based care, and healthcare quality improvement for managed populations.
Justin completed his graduate training with an emphasis in data science at University of Florida where he received his Doctoral degree in medical sociology and Master of Public Health degree in hospital administration and epidemiology. More recently, Justin has completed an executive coaching program at Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management.
Justin enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife Jennifer and his two golden retrievers.
