Brook Watts, MD, MS, is SVP/Chief Quality & Safety Officer and Chief Medical Officer, Community and Public Health for The MetroHealth System.
In this role, Dr. Watts is responsible for quality and safety throughout The MetroHealth System. In this role, she reports to the Chief Executive Officer. She also serves as the Chief Medical Officer of the MetroHealth federally qualified health center (FQHC) program, which encompasses both traditional and mobile community-based primary care programs. This requires collaboration with government agencies, community organizations, nonprofits and other stakeholders. She also holds an academic appointment as Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine (CWRU).
Dr. Watts joined The MetroHealth System in January 2018. She previously served as Vice President and Chief Quality Officer. Prior to joining MetroHealth, Dr. Watts served as Senior Advisor for Health Informatics at the Veterans Health Administration, and was Chief Health Informatics Officer and Chief Quality Officer at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.
Among her regional and national honors, she is a member of the editorial board for the Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety.
Dr. Watts received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency and chief residency at The University of Michigan.
Dr. Watts completed the VA Quality Scholars Program fellowship from the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center and received a Master of Science degree in in Epidemiology & Biostatistics (focusing on Health Policy) from CWRU.
