8:15 AM | Clinical / Healthcare Transformation
Most CIOs were taught to leverage technology to support the business but to never embark on a strategy without a business sponsor. Today’s environment demands a new approach. Sometimes the CIO must lead the business strategy. The CIO is uniquely positioned to identify and see the business challenges while understanding the technology options to address them. Waiting for C-Suite peers to take action could lead to missed opportunities. Waiting for C-Suite peers can sometimes lead to significant rework downstream. When is the appropriate time to step forward and lead the business?

11:45 AM | IT Leadership / Staffing and Development
In the high-stress environment of IT, building and structuring a team that can function at a high-level while maintaining an atmosphere of personal development and family first can be a difference maker that goes well beyond the day-to-day.
At Bayhealth, a 3,600-employee, 400-physician health system based throughout central and southern Delaware, the health IT team has undergone dramatic change in just the past 3 years-- reworking everything from process workflow, to hiring practices. The results of these changes have resulted in higher productivity, a improved ability to retain employees, and the growth and launch Bayhealth's dedicated cybersecurity team.
In this session, hear from longtime healthcare Chief Information Officer Rick Mohnk, as he imparts lessons learned from his career over the past 40 years, and the foundational principles for structuring an IT team from the ground up. Also hear from Senior Project Manager Robin Yarnall who will discuss the department's transformation and process changes in depth, and how these changes have allowed them grow their influence across the enterprise. 1:00 PM | Value-Based Care / Interoperability
The 21st Century Cures Act signed over a full year ago by President Obama, represents a fundamental shift in data exchange requirements.
The legislation, signed into law late last year by former President Obama, aims to accelerate the development of medical innovation as well as reform the nation’s mental health system. It includes several important health IT provisions designed to help achieve those goals by easing secure health information sharing.
In this presentation, hear from nationally-renowned policy and data exchange expert Dr. David Kibbe, as he discusses the law's provisions and their potential impact on future IT strategy.

1:30 PM | IT Leadership
The role of Chief Information Officer, or senior IT executive in healthcare is in a stage of dramatic flux. In an era of emerging new care models, payment models, and business lines demanding access to data, standardizing a framework for prioritization and project focus can be the difference between being an order-taker, and being a business partner.
In this session, we visit with senior health IT leader and executive blogger, Chris Walden, as he delves into how IT can transform the current health care system support models from project-focused to product-focused. Join Walden, as he discusses the framework, skill set, outcomes and recommendations for how to move along the maturity continuum.

2:30 PM | Cybersecurity
Use of Artificial Intelligence is recognized as the only practical approach to staying ahead of the modern cyber threats. The steps used by AI are not unlike that of a physician. First, understand the patient (or device), assess if all organs (or components) are behaving as intended, and proactively treat (or remediate) viruses and other harm. In this session, Dr. May Wang will explore the latest advancements in AI in the field of cyber security specifically for connected medical devices.
3:00 PM | Cybersecurity
When it comes to securing patient data, it takes a village - every team member must be acting in lockstep to advance an organization's security and privacy objectives. In this panel discussion, we explore how collaboration can ultimately lead to new workflows that are a win-win for security personnel, clinicians, and patients alike. Listen in as we tackle the primary considerations for access controls, phishing and social engineering campaigns, and clinical workflows that are now being designed with security and privacy in mind.
Attend this session and:
Pamela Banchy, Chief Information Officer, Western Reserve Hospital David Kaelber, Chief Medical Information Officer and Vice President, Health Informatics, The MetroHealth System Karen Martinko, IS Security Manager, MetroHealth System Ricky Aldridge, Director of Cybersecurity,Cloud & Data Security, Cleveland Clinic Keith Duemling, Lake Health, Information Security Officer
4:00 PM | Data Governance and Project Management
Governance in today's Health IT departments can often dictate the success of CIO. By prioritizing and continuously analyzing mission-critical components like budget, application sunsetting, and workflow efficiency optimization, IT can often become the centerpiece of success.
In this session, we visit with nationally recognized CIO and executive Audrius Polikaitus, as he shares recommendations and sessions learned to govern the ungoverned, master project prioritization, and recommend action plans for future enterprise-wide efforts.

8:15 AM | Value-Based Care
The Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) remains an enigma for organizations nationwide, as few organizations have been able to satisfy Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements to retain cost savings.
In the 2016 performance year, MetroHealth Care Partners ACO performed at 8.1 percent below the CMS benchmark, saving CMS a total of $9.1 million. Through its 96 percent quality score, and its breakthrough approach to data exchange and infrastructure, MetroHealth received $4.3 million as its share of the CMS savings.
In this keynote presentation, hear from MetroHealth CMIO Dr. David Kaelber, and a senior member of the MetroHealth Care Partners ACO team, as they share their three-year journey that built the foundation for this year's success. Find out the key IT strategic approaches, clinical inforamtics, and the critical technology-supported care management processes that resulted in this resounding success story that has made MetroHealth a track 3 advanced payment model ACO.

9:00 AM | Population Health
The Opioid Crisis looms large nationally. According to a report from the CDC, nearly 2 million Americans abused or were dependent on opioids in 2014 with that number steadily on the rise.
Few states know the Opioid Crisis like the Commonwealth of Kentucky. A recent article in The Atlantic revealed that in Clay County (population: 21,000) alone, residents in the country filled prescriptions for 2.2 million doses of hydrocodone and 617,000 oxycodone doses in 12 months, enough for 150 doses for each citizen in the county.
In this session, hear from the UK Health team as they describe their approach to forming cohorts and applying analytics to better combat this epidemic.

9:30 AM | Population Health
Following President Trump's declaration of the Opioid Crisis as a National Health Emergency, national initiatives have begun to take shape and receive a white-hot spotlight.
In the state of Ohio, and specifically in the Cleveland metropolitan area, opioid use has become rampant among certain patient groups.
This panel will attempt to address the concerns around opioid use, and how IT can be positioned to support better quality care and treatment of opioids in the future.

12:00 PM | IT Leadership
Mergers and acquisitions of physician practices, hospitals and even health plans can often create instability among technology personnel and physicians in the value-based care environment. This instability can translate to cost-efficiency issues, and can influence quality. And it is increasingly clear-- hospitals are no longer able to sustain cost at the current rate.
In this presentation, hear from Dr. Chi Cheng Huang, Executive Medical Director of General Medicine and Hospital Medicine Shared Services at Wake Forest Baptist Health System, as he shares the challenges of bringing disparate systems, physicians, and IT experts under a single roof.
