RDH is honored to open submissions for the 4th RDH Student Research Awards. The awards will recognize the contributions of senior dental hygiene students and their presentations of current research projects (including table clinics and capstone projects). Awards will be presented for three categories: Original Research, Informational Posters, and Research Paper. All submissions will be virtual recorded presentations with a submission deadline of April 30, 2025. RDH will announce the recipients of the awards on May 2025.

The Original Research posters will summarize an original research project. Original Research Poster Guidelines. Informational Posters will provide analysis of published concepts and trends that impact the profession. Informational Poster Guidelines. Research Report (White Paper) will provide an in-depth report on a specific topic. Research Paper Guidelines.

This awards program will consider the posters submitted and will be assessed via a rubric system. Original Research Rubric. Informational Rubric, and Research Paper Rubric.  Awards will be given for both categories:  Original Research Poster, Informational Poster, and Research Paper for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. A maximum of 25 submissions per category will be permitted.  Rules and Regulations.

Who is eligible?

Entrants must be enrolled in an accredited U.S. dental hygiene program and in their senior year.  All presenters must be students at the time of the application deadline to participate.  A minimum one (and a maximum of two) presenters are allowed for each poster presentation.  Costs for travel to UOR will only be covered for one presenter for each first-place category.  Presenters picked to travel to UOR must have been directly involved in conducting the information study presented.

A maximum of 1 poster per poster category and 1 paper for the research paper category may be submitted by each U.S. dental hygiene program.

What is the selection process?

All submissions will be judged by a panel of appointed experts and evaluated with a rubric system. Original Research Rubric, Informational Poster Rubric, and Research Paper Rubric. The top three scoring posters in each category will be notified by May 2025.

What do the recipients receive?

The top 3 scoring posters in each category will be recognized on numerous platforms, including the RDH Facebook page and website. Finalists will be featured in RDH Magazine, RDH eVillage, and RDH Graduate.

One individual from the 1st place winners, of Original Research, Informational Posters, and the Research Paper respectively, will receive registration to the 2025 RDH Under One Roof conference July 18-20, 2025 in Dallas, round trip airfare and hotel. The 1st place winners will be defending the results of their posters in person with the 2nd and 3rd place winners have the option of shipping posters to be displayed at Under One Roof.

By submitting a Nomination, Nominator releases and holds Endeavor Business Media, LLC, its officers, employees, agents, representatives and the Judges of the 2023 RDH Student Research Poster Awards harmless from any and all claims, damages or loss, including, but not limited to, loss of current or future business or profits or any harm to reputation and regardless of whether Endeavor Business Media, LLC was advised of the possibility of such damages, due to submitting an entry. This release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted and includes all claims in tort, contract, equity or otherwise and if any portion therefore is held invalid, the undersigned agrees that the balance shall continue in full force and effect. Nominator further agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action, arising out of or in connection with the Awards shall be resolved by judicial proceeding taking place in the state or federal courts within the state of Tennessee and be adjudicated in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee; (2) any and all claims, judgements and awards shall be limited to out-of-pocket-costs incurred, including costs incurred in entering, but in no event shall include an award of attorney’s fees’ and (3) Nominator waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, and consequential damages, loss of profits, and any other damages and rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
